meet specifications) will be retained on the lined area as it is excavated, prepared, and
placed or other appropriate precautions will be implemented if lime additional to the ore
is included in the preparation of the material. The screening facility will use water
sprays, as necessary, to control fugitive dust in accordance with air permits required to
operate the screening (or crushing) equipment.
7.2.2.6 Access/Haul Roads
Access roads have been incorporated into the SGVLF design where possible to provide
for small truck traffic access around the perimeter of the SGVLF and construction roads
within the SGVLF area. A 15- to 20 -foot wide road (typical) in addition to 6 feet for a
safety berm and 6 feet for a small drainage ditch has been incorporated into the design.
The access roads are designed for small vehicular traffic only. In addition, an 80 -foot
wide haul truck ramp from the LOB to the SGVLF PSSA has been included in the
design.
7.2.2.7 Restrictions on Liner Installation
To install the geomembrane liner in accordance with acceptable practices that minimize
the potential for puncture and improper seaming as a result of weather conditions, CC &V
will continue to use the criteria approved for the AGVLF for determining when the
geosynthetic liner can be installed. Specifically, these criteria set out temperature or
precipitation conditions that would require a temporary halt to liner deployment. The
information on approved construction criteria is included in the technical specifications
provided as part of Appendix 9, Volume V of this document.
7.2.2.8 Construction Drawings, Construction Specifications, Inspection, and
Certification
The engineering designs contained in this document for the SGVLF are based on the best
information currently available and provide a detailed description of the project features
associated with MLE2. Since MLE2 will be implemented over many years, it is possible
that additional information may be generated that would need to be submitted to the
OMLR prior to construction of certain project components. In those instances where the
submittal of further information is warranted, CC &V will provide IFC drawings and
appropriate supporting documentation (e.g., calculations, narrative explanations) to the
OMLR containing design details and changes that are based on site specific conditions
and constraints. Comparable to MLE activities, submittal of the IFC drawings and any
supporting information is not expected to require new approvals but is intended merely to
ensure that the OMLR is aware of the phased implementation of MLE2 activities. It is
recognized that certain design changes may require OMLR review and approval as more
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
7 -12
