detailed information is provided pursuant to approved MLE2. It also is recognized that if
the OMLR determines that any proposed change will be of such a nature to diminish the
ability of the structure to protect persons, property, or the environment, the OMLR may
require the appropriate information or revision.
As with construction of the AGVLF, CC &V will employ the services of a qualified
quality assurance contractor during the construction of SGVLF components. Reviews,
inspections, and applicable testing of specific elements of the SGVLF component
construction will be carried out to ensure adherence to construction specifications.
Technical specifications for construction of the SGVLF are presented in Appendix 9,
Volume V.
7.2.3 Ore Loading
Haul trucks will be loaded at the LOB with crushed ore (that may include agglomerated
ground product from the High Grade Mill facilities) and will haul the ore to the SGVLF.
The loaded haul trucks transport the ore to designated areas on the SGVLF where end
dumping and spreading by dozers will occur.
The ore stacking at the SGVLF will use a 1.6H:1 V overall side slope for the perimeter
except for the area upgradient of the PSSA toe berm that will be a 2.5H:1 V overall slope
and the area above the mill platform that will be an overall slope of 2.0H:1 V.
7.2.4 Solution Application
Solution for the SGVLF will be applied in the same manner as currently used for the
AGVLF. Barren solution will be pumped from and pregnant solution will be pumped to
the SGADR from the SGVLF in 24 -inch diameter steel pipeline, referred to as headers,
located entirely within the lined portion of the SGVLF. Header pipelines will branch into
a series of 12 -inch diameter HDPE pipes connected to six -inch diameter HDPE pipes and
four -inch diameter yellow mine pipes. The piping system will be used to distribute
solution to agricultural drip irrigation tubes on approximately 32 -inch centers. Where the
headers approach the edge of the liner in a manner that indicates a potential leak under
pressure might escape the lined portion, the header may be covered with a piece of liner,
with ore, or with other crushed rock. Solution typically will be applied using drip
irrigation; however, there may be periods when sprinkler -type wobblers will be used to
apply solution to the ore.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
7 -13
