foundation conditions. All non -ore materials will be hauled to one of the OSAs or used in
backfilling mine areas.
5.6 Crushing and Conveying
5.6.1 Crushing Facility
The existing crushing circuit located adjacent to the AGVLF will be operated as currently
approved. Production rates from the crusher complex are currently permitted up to a
capacity of 27 MT per year. On average, 25 MT of ore per year will be processed
through the primary and secondary crushers.
Approximately 2 MT of material through the crusher will be higher grade ore material
that will then be directed to the High Grade Mill facilities. The remaining crushed
material will be placed on the AGVLF or SGVLF.
The ore from the mine areas will be hauled directly to the dump pocket of the primary
gyratory crusher or temporarily placed in a nearby ore stockpile. A loader will be used to
maintain the crusher dump pocket area and to feed the dump pocket from the temporary
stockpile when necessary. The truck dump pocket is enclosed on all sides and is
equipped with a water spray system for dust control.
From the primary crusher, ore is dropped onto a conveyor to a splitter box and double
deck vibratory screens. The splitter box and screens provide separation to direct properly
sized ore directly to the LOB and oversize ore to the secondary crushers for further
crushing. The secondary crushers crush the ore to nominal 3/4 to 7/8 inches in size. Dust
is controlled by water sprays and the enclosed transfer points of the primary crusher and
screening facility. In addition, the primary crushing facility is equipped with a foam
application system that can be utilized to assist with dust suppressant efforts during
adverse weather conditions.
The secondary crushing facility includes the ability to house four cone crushers in an
enclosed structure. However, under the current production rate of about 27 MT of ore
material through the crushing circuit, only three of the four secondary crushing units have
been installed and implemented. Dust is controlled through water sprays. In addition,
the conveyor system to and from the secondary crusher and the drop points in each of the
secondary crushing units are enclosed. The secondary crusher product is then conveyed
to the LOB for hauling to further processing.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
5 -16
