In these cases, monitoring will be limited to checking water levels (i.e., checking for
the presence of water) and samples will not be analyzed unless sufficient water is encountered to
allow sampling and analysis of non - turbid water.
11.3 VLFs
11.3.1 Leak Detection System Monitoring
The LDSs under the ore liner system and the PSSA liner system for the AGVLF drain to
sumps and are monitored. Small pumps are inserted in the lined sumps to sample and
remove, as necessary, any water that may be present. Any water removed is directed into
the AGVLF. The water is tested for pH and CN on a weekly basis. The new LDSs
included as part of SGVLF will be added to this monitoring. These LDSs for SGVLF are
described in Section 7.2.1.6 of this Project Description and in Appendix 9, Volume V of
this document.
1 CN concentrations must be accompanied by a commensurate level of CN In addition, the CN Free concentration in any
sample must exceed 0.2 mg/L.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
11 -3
