Spill monitoring will be implemented following clean up.
Surface water monitoring will be implemented downstream, if necessary. Soil along the spill
pathway will be monitored and decontaminated and/or removed from the site of the spill as
necessary. If there is a potential for the spill to migrate off -site, samples may be obtained
immediately from downgradient, existing surface and ground water location and any additional
water monitoring locations deemed appropriate to monitor the potential migration pathways.
The spilled material also may be tested to evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation.
11.2 Ground Water
Ground water quality and depth to ground water will be monitored on a quarterly basis under
MLE2 at the following locations: downgradient of the AGVLF in Arequa Gulch (CRMW -3A
and CRMW -3B) and Wilson Creek (WCMW -3 and WCMW -6); downgradient of the SGVLF in
Squaw Gulch (SGMW -5); downgradient of the East Cresson Mine area at two locations in
Vindicator Valley (VIN -2A and VIN -2B) and five locations in Grassy Valley (GVMW -8A,
GVMW -8B, GVMW -16, GVMW -24A, and GVMW -24B); downgradient of the North Cresson
Mine area in Poverty Gulch at one location (PGMW -2); and downgradient of the External
Storage Pond ( "ESP ") in Arequa Gulch (ESPMW -1).
These wells, shown in Table 11 -2 and on Figure 11 -1, will be sampled and analyzed for the
parameters listed in Table 11 -4.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
11 -2
