Appendix 11. Supplies for domestic use (i.e., drinking) on site are derived from commercially -
provided bottled water.
As part of MLE2, the Altman pump station and supply line will be upgraded to provide the
supply of water needed for the High Grade Mill facilities. CC &V will work with the City of
Victor on the required upgrades.
9.4 Security and Signs
CC &V will continue to use practices to protect and warn the public and preclude access for
public safety including fencing, berming, signage, and security guards and gates.
Project areas requiring fencing will be the areas near public roads where motorists might
inappropriately access the Cresson Project. Where fencing is required, it may be of the cyclone
type, if appropriate, or typical rangeland barbed wire. Access onto the property for motorized
vehicles is gated for control.
For MLE2, the areas that will be fenced will include the area of the WHEX that runs closest to
CR 82 and the SGADR/SGVLF facilities that lie closest to realigned SH 67. The fencing around
portions of the SGADR and SGVLF will be six- to eight -foot high chain link with signs posted
warning of the use of dilute sodium cyanide solution and no trespassing. Fencing along CR 82
near the WHEX will be three -strand barbed wire appropriately signed as an active mining area.
Gates are used to restrict access onto the property from public roads. Security checkpoints must
be crossed before vehicle access to the Cresson Project is allowed. For MLE2 a new security
checkpoint, Squaw Gulch Security Access, will be located at the entrance to the
SGADR/SGVLF from realigned SH 67.
Signs are used around the perimeter of the operations to discourage access without permission.
Signage is required by the OMLR and by the International Cyanide Management Code in areas
of sodium cyanide use at the Cresson Project. OMLR signs typically are informational signs that
both refer to the permits and state that access without permission is prohibited. The entrances to
the Cresson Project are posted with signs that are clearly visible from CR 82 and SH 67. A new
sign of this type will be placed at the Squaw Gulch Security Access. These signs list the
following:
• Name of the Operator ( "CC &V ")
• That MLRB Permit(s) have been issued
• The MLRB Permit No(s)
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
9 -5
