Signs warning of the use of dilute sodium cyanide solution usage as required by the International
Cyanide Management Code will be placed on fencing around the SGADR and SGVLF. In
addition, signs notifying of dilute sodium cyanide solution usage will be placed at the
cyanidation portion of the High Grade Mill facilities. Signs prohibiting unauthorized access onto
CC &V private lands surrounding the operations are in place and will be extended as appropriate
as the mine operations change, in particular signs will be placed along new fencing to be
installed along CR 82 and the new permit boundary areas to warn of no trespassing and the
dangers of the active mining operations in this area. The American Eagles access road is signed
in accordance with the agreement with Teller County.
Where operations are approaching the limits of areas approved for disturbance, and if the limits
of the area that may be disturbed might not be approved for development, the boundaries of the
area that may be disturbed pursuant to the permit will be marked in a clearly- visible manner
adequate to delineate such boundaries and to thereby inform CC &V personnel of the limits of
disturbance contained in the permit. As part of MLE2, CC &V will review all current signs along
the property boundary and replace them as needed.
Signs that are no longer required will be removed. Upon completion of mining and reclamation,
a six -foot high (minimum) chain link fence will be installed around the crest of those portions of
the mine areas where highwalls of greater than approximately 100 feet in depth exist at the top of
the mine area. The fence will be designed to control access. Signs will warn of the topographic
hazard, as appropriate.
Hazardous waste storage areas are carefully controlled and include appropriate signage. The
limited hazardous waste materials that are generated at the Cresson Project are properly managed
and disposed in compliance with applicable Federal and State requirements. These materials
include lead - contaminated cupels and crucibles from the fire assay laboratory as well as solvents
from emptied spray cans. These materials, when stored, are placed in appropriate receptacles
with required signage; no specific fencing is required for these materials. All hazardous waste
storage areas are inspected weekly by CC &V to ensure that State and Federal standards are met
at the facilities. There will be no new hazardous waste storage areas as part of MLE2.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
9 -6
