Mining Plan
EXHIBIT "C"
6.3.3 The Mining Plan for the COLORADO MOSS ROCK PIT is as follows (Please also
see Mining Plan Map in Exhibit "E "):
This will be typical open pit rock picking mine /activity located with in a glacier boulder
field deposit. The rocks harvested will be use as landscaping stone /decorative rock.
(a) All times in the timetable are dependent upon market conditions. The mining
timetable is as follows. From the time of startup in the spring of 2012 the
operation should take five (5) to seven (7) years.
(b) The topsoil on the site is limited in supply, however it is likely that enough
growth medium is available to grow vegetation. Three (3 ") to four (4 ") inches of .
growth medium should be available for seeding the area under the spots where
the boulders are lifted.
(c) No overburden will be removed since this is a rock picking activity and no
excavation will take place. The ground under the boulder will be hand raked to
loosen the soil and then seeded with the seed mixture recommended by
Richard Rhoades, District Conservationist of the Pueblo NRCS Office.
The topography of the underlying ground will be unchanged and no overburden
will be. removed.
(d) The deposit varies in depth depending upon location some boulders are on
top of other boulders. The activity will not disturb the underlying earth more than 6
to 10 inches deep.
(e) The road from the gate to the processing area is expected to be 11 feet to 13
feet wide and lead to the rock picking area. The rock picking area has branch
roads to make a way into the boulder field to access the boulders that are to be
lifted. Only portable equipment will be used on this mine site. The machines
used will be a track excavator and a rubber tired loader and rubber tire trucks
used for hauling and transporting the boulders and rocks. No processing will be
done on site other than putting the boulders on wood pallets and securing them
for safe transport. No structures will be built for this mining project.
