Permittee:
Permit #: M- 1977 -129
Operation Name: WHITEWATER 500 PIT
Anniversary Date: 09/221011
Plant Site (tan). We will continue to removed stockpiled
material from Stage W as needed.
Please refer to Map 2 of 2 when reviewing the following
information. Mining was completed on the 8.8 acres
partially mined last year (orange). No new stripping was
done this year as we have 14.30 acres in Stage 3 - PART B
partially mine or stripped ready for mining (yellow).
Topsoil along the north side of the excavated area remains
undisturbed. This berm serves two purposes, as a topsoil
pile and an MSHA safety berm. The 6.00 acre raw material
storage area in the northwest part of Stage 6 is still
being used. The main processing plant is located on the
Industrial Site at 1360 Coffman Road. The overburden
stockpiled area east of the stripped area is still in use
(brown). This material will be used to reclaim the slopes
and resoil the above water areas as reclamation progresses
in this stage.
(2) See Sheet 1 of 2. The west arm of Stage 2 - PART A (2.79
ac.) was seeded in the fall of 2010 and begins the second
year. Reclamation is complete on the Cattle Feeding Areas
in Phases A thru F (purple). Revegetation is complete on
the south slopes of Phases A thru C. A 900 -foot section of
perimeter road was constructed for the landowners on the
north side of the west arm. The two landowner building
sites remain unchanged from last year (brown). The above
water areas in Stage 2 - PART A and around the backfill area
were seeded in November 2009 after the water level
stabilized (green). The new landowners of this area began
to use the lake for water skiing this summer and have
constructed a sandy volleyball area on the SW Building
Site. The wave action from the boats have created a 1 -2
foot vertical bank and a 2 foot band along the normal lake
level that does not support vegetation.
The seeding around Stage 2 - PART B is growing and will
complete it's 3 growing seasons in November 2011. The
landowner of this area installed 2 water inlets on the
southern part of the lake and diverts irrigation water he
owns from East Creek into this lake. An outlet pipe was
installed in the NE corner to regulate the amount of water
he place in the lake. As a result the lake level
WHITI
