Hickenlooper <br />Governor <br />Mike King <br />Executive Director <br />Loretta Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) engineering staff has reviewed the <br />following selected work plans in Exhibit D of the August 2011 submittal: <br />a) Attachment D -2, Portal Collapse Repair Work Plan May Day No. 1, <br />b) Attachment D -3, Little Deadwood Gulch May Day No. 2 Drainage Control, <br />c) Attachment D -4, Chief Drainage and Portal Work Plan and Lamb Affected Area Little <br />Deadwood Gulch, <br />d) Attachment D -6, Augmentation Pond Work Plan. <br />The following comments are posed to ensure adequate engineering analyses and design practices <br />are implemented in accordance with Rules 6.3.3(1), 6.4.21(7) & (10), and 7.3.1(3). <br />Attachment D -2, Portal Collapse Repair Work Plan May Day No. 1 <br />1. Page 4, second to last paragraph, the applicant states Wildcat will obtain approval from <br />DRMS prior to commencing portal repair activities. The applicant should be aware that <br />DRMS approval can only be obtained through the Technical Revision process. The <br />submittal will require the following: <br />a. The technical memorandum summarizing the information, data, and design <br />resulting from the work plan outlined in the bulleted list above the referenced <br />paragraph on page 4. <br />b. There is no discussion in Attachment D -2 related to portal repair drawings and <br />specifications. The applicant needs to commit to providing DRMS with repair <br />drawings and specifications. <br />2. Page 8, Reporting. The second paragraph indicates "as- built" drawings will be prepared <br />in the third quarter of 2011.
