Mr. Wallace H. Erickson
Response to August 22, 2011 Cazier Memorandum
September 9, 2011
Page 2
• Prepare a technical memorandum summarizing the results of the work
described above, including the information, data, and design resulting
from the work plan.
Wildcat will also clarify its proposed engineering analysis by adding the
following bullets to the list of bullets at Page 4 of Attachment D -2:
• Submit revised design plans for portal stabilization, including repair drawings
and specifications, as necessary, through the Technical Revision or
Amendment process.
• After obtaining DRMS approval through the Technical Revision or
Amendment process, proceed with remainder of work plan.
Adequacy Issue No. 2.
Page 8, Reporting. The second paragraph indicates "as- built" drawings will be prepared
in the third quarter of 2011. DRMS recommends this statement be revised such that the
schedule is tied to the date site access might be granted and seasonal limitations related
to field and construction work.
Response to Adequacy Issue No. 2.
Wildcat will modify the first sentence of the second paragraph of the Reporting
section at Page 8 of Attachment D -2 as follows: "'As built' drawings will be prepared
and submitted where center lines, cuts and fills have been established 45 days after the
work performed pursuant to the Portal Collapse Repair Work Plan has been completed."
Adequacy Issue No. 3.
Figure D -2, Stormwater Control Plan:
a. The Type "C" inlet labeled with a hexagon enclosing a "1" appears to be
capable of intercepting very little upgradient stormwater runon. Please
provide some discussion as to how runon is to be intercepted or diverted
away from the north side of the May Day No. 1 pad.
b. The south diversion ditch in the plan view flowing north towards the
sediment basin appears to be flowing uphill, gaining five feet in elevation.
Please provide some explanation or revise the grading plan.
DEN 97, 591, 786v1 9 -9 -11
GREENBERG TRAURIG, LLP • ATTORNEYS AT LAW • WWW.GTLAW.COM
