Samples will be inspected to confirm field classifications
and for laboratory testing;
• Selected samples will be transported for laboratory testing including
moisture content, dry density, strength, classification, grain -size
distribution, and compaction tests;
• Perform engineering and geologic evaluations to develop conclusions and
recommendations regarding the following:
o Bench and rock storage area stability; and,
o Design for bench and rock storage area stabilization methods, as
necessary, to accommodate load bearing necessary for proposed
mining operations.
• Prepare a technical memorandum summarizing the results of the work
described above.
• Submit design for bench and rock storage area stabilization methods to
DRMS, as necessary, pursuant to the Technical Revision or Amendment
process.
• After obtaining DRMS approval through the Technical Revision or
Amendment process, proceed with remainder of work plan.
Adequacy Issue No. 10.
Page 7, Chief Portal and Reclaimed Drainage Channel. The third bullet references
Attachment U -3 and Table U -12 for channel geometry and estimated flow velocity.
Both are in consistent with the information in Attachment U -3. The side slopes in the
FlowMaster® computer output following Table U -12 indicate 3H:1V side slopes (not
2H:1 V) and the estimated velocity is greater than 10 fps, not 7.5 fps.
Response to Adequacy Issue No. 10.
Sides slopes for the Chief Portal and Reclaimed Drainage for the period of
operation will be 2:1. The estimated flow velocity will be changed as noted.
Adequacy Issue No. 11.
Page 7, May Day No. 2 Operational Area Reclaimed Drainage Channel.
