D. Without limiting the provisions of the Contract, the Contractor shall warrant
the work to Owner in accordance with the following:
1. The geosynthetic supplied is suitable for the environmental
conditions at the site and the service conditions as described in this
specification.
2. The geosynthetic supplied meets or exceeds all published
Specifications as referenced by the specification.
3. The geosynthetic are free of defects in materials and workmanship.
4. The Contractor shall repair all defects in the material detected on-
site, including uncovering and recovering the work, in compliance
with the Specifications at no additional cost to Rio Grande Silver.
5. The Contractor shall repair any detected leaks in any seams
(Manufactured or field joined), including uncovering and recovering
the work, in compliance with the Specifications at no additional cost
to Rio Grande Silver.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. A CQA program has been developed to assure that the construction of
the geosynthetic components are in compliance with the project
Specifications and to demonstrate that the regulatory requirements for the
construction are achieved.
The objective of this plan is to assure that proper materials, construction
techniques, and procedures are followed by the Contractor and that the
intent of the design is met. The basis of the CQA program to meet this
objective is not to conduct 100 percent CQA coverage of the Installer's
work, but rather to provide spot checks of the Installer's means and
methods for conformance with the design requirements. The scope of the
CQA program has been established with the goal of 100 percent
coverage of deployment and seaming, with 75 percent coverage of the
CQC non - destructive testing, destructive testing, trial seams, and repairs.
This program also intends to identify problems that may occur during
construction and provide the means for resolution of these problems.
This program addresses quality assurance (QA), not quality control (QC).
This CQA plan is independent of the QC programs conducted by the
Manufacturers, Installers, and Contractors. The intent of the CQA plan is
to provide spot verification and testing of the CQC to assess whether the
Installer and Contractors have met their obligations in the supply and
installation of geosynthetic materials according to the design, project
Specifications, and contractual and regulatory requirements. QC is
provided by the Manufacturers, Installers, and Contractors and refers to
Rio Grande Silver Tailings Evaporation Pond 02620 -4 Geosynthetic Liner
August 2011 02620
