New Access Road Construction Work Plan <br />Exhibit D — Attachment 1 <br />specifications, and the observations and testing performed to provide this assurance <br />adequately documented. <br />Definitions <br />• Quality Control - A mechanism performed by the Contractor for ensuring that <br />construction activities conform to the construction drawings and specification; <br />• Quality Assurance - A mechanism performed by the Owner to ensure that construction <br />activities conform to the construction drawings and specification; <br />• Regulatory Authority - DRMS and La Plata County Planning Department; <br />• Geotechnical Engineer - Professional engineer licensed to practice in Colorado with <br />substantial experience in the art and science of the geotechnical branch of civil <br />engineering in general and the design and construction of hillside roads in particular; and <br />• Technician - An individual with training in engineering technology, with significant <br />experience in construction oversight and testing of civil and earthwork projects who is <br />trained and licensed to use nuclear density and moisture determination testing. <br />Quality Control <br />Quality Assurance <br />Contractor will generate daily reports describing work performed, equipment and <br />manpower utilized to perform the work, issues arising during the work and how these <br />issues were addressed. Contractor will be responsible for the following Quality Control <br />activities: <br />• Assuring that lines and grades shown on the construction drawings are achieved; <br />• Providing submittals from suppliers or independent entities that demonstrate materials <br />utilized conform to the specifications; and <br />• Assuring that the appropriate equipment is used to efficiently and safely achieve the lines <br />and grades shown on the construction drawings and the standards defined in the <br />specifications. <br />The Geotechnical Engineer and /or Technician will be onsite full time during access road <br />construction activities to assure the work is performed consistent with the Regulatory <br />Authority approved construction drawings and specifications.
