#& vine" <br />MtlitlICT <br />8. Each mining crew must have adequate materials and containment equipment to <br />enable the rapid cleanup of any spill which may occur. <br />. The company shall maintain spill kits containing sufficient quantity of <br />absorbent and barrier material to adequately contain and recover foreseeable <br />spills. These kits may include but are limited to absorbents pads, straw bales, <br />absorbent clays, sawdust, floor drying agents, spill containment barriers, plastic <br />sheeting, and holding tanks. This equipment shall be located near fuel areas and <br />other locations as necessary to be readily available to control foreseeable spills. <br />. Suitable plastic lining material shall be available for placement below and on <br />top of temporarily- stored contaminated soils and materials. <br />. All fuel, and where necessary, service vehicles, shall carry spill containment <br />material adequate to control foreseeable spills, Such material may include but <br />not limited to absorbent pads, commercial absorbent material, plastic bags with <br />ties and a shovel. <br />. Construction equipment will be parked a minimum of 50 feet away from all <br />water bodies at the end of the day. <br />. All fuel nozzles will be equipped with functional shut -offs and overflow <br />switches. <br />. Fuel trucks transporting fuel to the mine site shall travel only on approved <br />access roads. <br />9. The mining superintendent shall perform a daily inspection and test all equipment to <br />ensure that it is in good repair, check all hoses, pipes , valves and tanks to be sure <br />they are free of leaks. Any equipment that is leaking or in need of repair will <br />immediately be removed from service and repaired prior to resuming work. <br />10. Fuel Storage Tanks (ABOVE GROUND OR BELOW GROUND) shall not be allowed on <br />the mining site. <br />11. Service vehicles shall be the only form of fueling equipment. Placards shall be placed <br />on service vehicles to include No smoking within 50 feet. Minimum MSHA <br />requirements for fire extinguishers must be located on service vehicles. Spill kits must <br />be located at the fueling area. <br />12. Fuels, lubricants, waste oil and any other regulated substances must be stored in <br />above ground tanks only and must conform to all applicable industry codes. <br />
