amecIO
H14+00 (+/-), approximately 0 to 300 feet left of centerline using two CAT D-6 LGP dozers
and two CAT D-8 dozers.
C) Cut to Fill
1) VLF
Structural fill was placed between stations J 10+00 (+/-) and J 10+75 (+/-), approximately 200
to 250 feet left of centerline. Structural fill was placed in 18" to 24" lifts using various CAT
dozes. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a tandem axle water truck (when necessary)
and compacted using a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing over the entire fill
surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique was applicable). Fill temperatures were
monitored by an AMEC field representative during ambient temperatures below 32°F and
found be acceptable.
D) Soil Liner Fill
1) VLF
No work performed during the week.
E) High Volume Solution Collection System
1) High Volume Solution Collection Piping
No placement performed during the week.
2) Drain Cover Fill (DCF)
No work performed during the week.
F) Leak Detection Trench
1) VLF
Excavation of the leak detection trench continued between stations H11+00 (+/-) and H20+50
(+/-), approximately 150 feet left of centerline. The excavated material was stockpiled to the
west of the excavation and will be used for slope contouring in the area. A portion of the leak
detection system was installed between stations H15+00 (+/-) to H20+50 (+/-) approximately
150 left of centerline. The 1'x1' trench was excavated using a CAT 312 excavator. 40mi1
HDPE geomembrane and 12oz/ffz geotextile were placed in the trench. Three-inch CPe pipe
was then placed over the geotextile. Approved leak detection fill (LDF) was placed in the
trench using a CAT 950 front-end loader and laborers. The geotextile was wrapped and
overlapped, encapsulating the LDF and 3" CPe pipe. SLF material was then placed over the
trench. Leak detection trench construction was observed and inspected by an AMEC field
representative and found to be constructed in accordance with design drawing and project
specifications.
II) Storm Water Management
A) Best Management Practices
Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the Phase 5 VLF Project.
VLF Weekly Report WE 05.14.2011
