2.04.7(4)
The water right at map code 8, Maverick Draw
Ditch, is an irrigation water right which is used to irrigate s
small field located on the north side of Naturita Creek in the
SE/4SE/4 of Section 21 at the mouth of Broad Canyon.
According to Lyman Campbell, the District 60 Water
Commissioner, up three land owners are in the process of changing
the point of diversion for the Warner Ditch water right, map code
7. This change in the point of diversion will allow the land
owners the right to pump water from Naturita Creek for irrigation
use. According to Mr. Campbell the land owners use this water to
irrigate lawns and small gardens. The exact locations of the
proposed point of diversion change is unknown but it is down-
stream of the confluence of Broad Canyon and Naturita Creek.
The water right shown as map code 12, B & W Spring No.
1 is a spring located in the bottom of Bramiers Draw This spring
is located a quarter east of the quarter-quarter-quarter location
of record in the State Engineers records. The permitted use of
this spring is for stock watering.
Map code 4, B C D Ditch, is the point of diversion for
the irrigation water for an alfalfa field located south of the
San Miguel River at the mouth of Bramiers Draw in the N/2NW/4 of
• Section 29 and the S/2SW/4 of Section 20.
Map code 15, Naff Springs No. 1 & 2, is a spring and
pipeline that is permitted for stock watering and residential
use. According to Lyman Campbell, the location of these springs
contained in the State Engineer's report is incorrect. These
springs are actually in Range 14 West so they should not even
appear on the map. It was decided to continue to show the
springs on the map along with this explanation because the
springs are listed on the water rights report.
None of the other water rights shown on the Water
Rights Location Map are within a one mile radius of the mining
operation or considered adjacent to the mining operation.
• 2.04-16i May 1991
