Applicant's Response:
The scales on the maps have been corrected. Please see attached replacement pages.
2. The Pre-Mining and Mining Plan Maps show that the permit boundary encompasses 232
acres and the affected area encompasses 157 acres. However, the permit application states the
permit area is 110 acres. In addition, the letter from McLaughlin Engineers dated October 22,
2010, states the affected area will encompass 110 acres. Please clarify this discrepancy and
specify the number of acres to be included in the permit area and the affected area and make
changes to the exhibits as necessary. The division recommends the permit boundary and the
boundary of affected land correspond to one another.
Applicant's Response:
These errors have been corrected. Please see attached replacement pages
3. The Applicant has stated on-site processing of mined material will include crushing and
screening. In the event of
flooding, flows would spread out and follow the low contours of the land in the area. The limits
of the 100-yr floodplain have been provided on the maps.
6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan
5. The Applicant has stated a SPPC (sic) plan will be developed and implemented. Will fuel
be stored on Site? If so please identify the location of fuel tanks on the Mining Plan Map and
describe the secondary containment measures to be used.
Applicant's Response:
This issue has been clarified. Please see the attached page
6. The Applicant has stated the pit slopes will be mined to final grade as mining approaches
the slurry wall. Please clarify ifpit slopes will be maintained at 3H.•1 Vat all times or only when
