Currently the Barnard Quarry has a highwall along the northeast corner of the affected area. <br />Please describe how the Operator will achieve a 3H:1 V slope along the highwall and specify <br />the aspect of the final reclaimed slope. <br />10. The Applicant has stated a four wheel drive road will remain after reclamation is complete. <br />The location of the road must be illustrated on the Reclamation Plan Map. Please revise the <br />Reclamation Plan Map accordingly. <br />11. The Applicant has stated there will not be any more than 500 to 1,000 cubic yards of <br />displaced material at any given time during the life of the operation. Based on observations <br />made during the Division's previous inspection, the amount of material that is currently <br />stockpiled exceeds 1,000 cubic yards. Please see co?? i lets under Exhibit E, No. 3. In <br />addition, please clarify if the total amount of stockpiled material will remain under 1,000 <br />cubic yards or if it will exceed this amount. If the Operator commits to keeping the amount of <br />total stockpiled material under 1,000 cubic yards, then you should describe how the Operator <br />will reduce the amount of currently stockpiled material. <br />12. As required by Rule 6.3.4(1)(c)(ii), explain how the seedbed will be prepared to eliminate <br />compacted conditions, e.g., chiseled, plowed, or disked. <br />13. As required by Rule 6.3.4(1)(c)(iv), specify the application method for grass seeding. If the <br />seed is to be broadcast, the application rate shall be twice the rate required for seed drilling. <br />If the seedbed has not been adequately roughened prior to seeding, the seed shall be raked or <br />harrowed after broadcast application. <br />14. As required by Rule 6.3.4(1)(d), the Applicant must consult the Colorado Division of <br />Wildlife (DOW) where wildlife is the proposed future land use. Please consult DOW and <br />revise the Reclamation Plan accordingly. <br />15. The Applicant has stated that reclamation of the Barnard Quarry will require a total of 30 <br />hours of dozer or loader work. As required by Rule 6.3.4(2), specify the cost for each <br />individual task, e.g., backfilling, grading, and topsoil application. Unit costs (cost per cubic <br />yard), volumes, and haul or push distances must be included when backfilling and grading <br />are part of the Reclamation Plan. Volume and unit costs for finish grading, subsoil and <br />topsoil application must be provided in terms of cost per cubic yard. The estimated cost for <br />fertilizer, seed and mulch acquisition and application must be provided as cost per acre. <br />Please revise the reclamation costs accordingly. <br />16. As required by Rule 6.3.4(2), determine and specify the point during the operation when the <br />site has reached a point of maximum disturbance. The cost to reclaim the site to the <br />specifications of the Reclamation Plan at this point must be estimated.
