CM0001756
Page 2
5. Dam appurtenances will be constructed including placement of a conveyance pipe (i.e., to
allow the option for controlled discharge from one side of the Dam to the other, if necessary);
construction of concrete headwalls and associated structures (e.g., butterfly valves, hand
wheels to operate the butterfly valves, walkways to access the headwalls, etc.) at each end of
the conveyance pipe; construction of a Dam crest spillway [i.e., to allow emergency
discharge from Robinson Lake into the Dam's backwater area (referred to as the Seepwater
Pond) or vice versa]; and placement of the Dam crest gravel surface (i.e., to support
equipment/vehicle access across the Dam crest).
Section 2.0 provides a summary of the regulatory criteria considered for the Dam design.
Section 3.0 provides a summary of existing site conditions when this design report was finalized.
Section 4.0 provides a technical discussion of design evaluations and construction considerations
performed to design the Dam.
This design report also contains six appendices. These appendices provide the evaluations and
calculations used to develop the Dam design, as well as technical specifications and construction
drawings to guide and control construction of the Dam. The appendices and a brief description
of their contents are as follows:
• A Regulatory Overview (Appendix A) was performed to determine the Dam's
classification and permitting requirements;
• Borrow Area Data (Appendix B) were collected and summarized to evaluate on-site
borrow area material's geotechnical properties and approximate quantities;
• Seepage Control Analyses (Appendix C) were performed to determine the
effectiveness of seepage control options to minimize seepage through the Dam, the
Dam's foundation and a fractured bedrock zone;
• Slope Stability Analyses (Appendix D) were performed to determine the stability of
the Dam under design loading;
• Dam Construction Materials (Appendix E) were designed to specify the Dam's fill
zones and appurtenances; and
?:\nm?????.\.ia..\6iamp2.aa 12/03196
=-Environmental
