Through the recent
completion of a Feasibility Study, it was determined that the most efficient method of delivering water to
the mill was through the construction of a new pump station at Robinson Lake and conveyance pipeline to
the Mill water storage tank. The old pump station is in a partial state of dismantlement and portions of the
existing pipeline have been abandoned. During tailing deposition on Tenmile pond, the water pool on
Tenmile will be decanted into Tenmile Tunnel where it will gravity flow to Robinson Lake. Water in excess
of that required to maintain the required operational level at Robinson Lake will be discharged through the
tunnel to the north portal where it will gravity flow to Mayflower pond. During tailings deposition on the
Mayflower pond, a pump barge will be used to pump water to the north portal of Tenmile Tunnel for
conveyance to Robinson Lake. The alternative to this methodology would be to pump water directly from
the tailings ponds to the mill storage tanks. It was determined that the proposed replacement of the
Robinson Lake Pump Station would result in reduced infrastructure and lower pumping requirements and
cost.
In addition, a trade-off study was conducted to evaluate different pumping systems for the pump station.
Four types of pumps were considered and the vertical turbine can pumps were selected based on more
favorable capital and operating costs.

5
