per map unit or five acres whichever is less." The Morgan property is adequately
sampled on a 330 ft2 grid (2.5 acres as per PR-6) but the remainder of the mine is
sampled on a 600 ft2 grid (8.26 acres) which is too large an area by either standard.
The areas north of BB Road that were backfilled in 2009 and 2010 should be
sampled on a 465 ft2 grid (5 acres).
6. Exhibit 2010-10, 2010 Topsoil Soil Balance - Pease clarify or correct the discrepancies
listed below for this map:
a. In the chart Morgan Soil Back Fill Calculations, the calculations for square feet do
not equal the acrear for the corresponding Zones 2 and 3. Zone 2 is 12.21 acres
which is 531,868 ft (43,560 ft /ac) but is listed as 521,529. Zone 3 is 31.68 acres
which. is 1,379,981 ft2, but is listed as 1,256,371. Please explain the differences in
area.
b. The chart `Morgan Soil Back Fill Calculations' is not calculating backfill but rather
topsoil. Please rename chart `Morgan Topsoil Replacement Calculations.'
c. The chart `Required Morgan Backfill' is not calculating backfill but rather topsoil.
Please rename chart `Morgan Topsoil Balance.'
d. Please include another chart showing the `Non-Morgan Replacement Calculations.'
Include in the chart the calculations (acreages and soil depth) used to determine the
required fill values used in the "Required Backfill Non-Morgan' chart.
e. Add to the legend of the map: the honeycomb pattern in BB Road and the grey OB
figures.
T Annual Reclamation Report 2010, page 3, Cover Crop, I" bullet - The text says seed mix
#3 was applied at a rate of 22.5 PLS/acre. Were 22.5 pure live seeds (PLS) applied per acre
or was this a typo meant to say lbs/acre? Please address this same issue in the next bullet on
page 4.
8. Annual Reclamation Report 2010, page 4, New Field Seeding and Interseeding - It is stated
that the "Benson west" property was seeded. Actually, "Benson east" was seeded. Please
fix this typo.
9. Annual Reclamation Report 2010, page 5, Land Status Category Chart -In the `Last Year's
Cumulative Total' column, the total acreages forwarded from the previous years are the
same for 2008, 2009 and 2010. Also, the cumulative totals are the same for 2008 and 2010.
Please check all the values in this chart by verifying the completeness of the data.
10. Annual Reclamation Report 2010, page 5, Acres Seeded Chart
-The acreage addition in
`Last Year's Cumulative Total' column is incorrect. The 319.91 acres forwarded is the
same value used for 2008, 2009 and 2010. The chart list 0.0 acres seeded in 2010, but in
fact 34.9 acres were seeded. Please check all the values in this chart by verifying the
completeness of the data.
11. The following comments pertain to the Walsh Soil Suitability Study included with the 2010
Annual Reclamation Report (ARR). At the time of the soil sampling (August 2010),
suitable soil standards were outlined in the permit by TR-57, however, during this time, a
3
