4.03.1 Haul Roads. (Cont'd.)
• includes sealing of cracks, inspection of the surface, shoulders, and
base, sealing of the asphalt surface when local defects show up. An
asphalt overlay is installed to improve strength and riding surface, when
inspections warrant this work. The Orchard Valley West Mine haul road is
maintained in a regular manner including blading, filling pot holes, and
replacement of road surface as required.
The Orchard Valley RAM coal stockpile haul road is maintained in a
regular manner including blading, filling pot holes, arcl replacement of
road surface as required.
(7) (a)
The existing Orchard Valley Mine haul road is to be left as access to the
grazitq areas. This is as described in Section 2.05.5 Post Mining Land
Use.
The Orchard Valley West Mine haul road will be removed from the
intersection of the Roatcap access road to the mine site. The road
betweRn that intersection and the intersection of Steven's Gulch will
remain in place for use by recreational and surtmier residents. The gravel
surfacing on this secpnent of road will remain in place. The gravel
surfacing on the road which will be removed will be removed as part of the
final abandonment of the area.
• The fill and gravel surfacing material comprising the Orchard Valley R-0-M
coal stockpile haul road on OJVCC owned property will be removed at the
close of mining operations. Natural drainage patterns will be restored
and all culverts shall be removed. Fill slopes shall be rounded or
reduced and shaped to meet natural drainage restoration starx~**j~. F~ccess
material from the Stevens Gulch fill will be relocated to the timber
storage area and shaped to blend with the surrounding contour or utilized
as may be necessary in the reclamation and regrading of the Fast Mine
facilities area. Terraces in wt and fill slopes are not anticipated to
be necessary and topsoil is unavailable for redistribution as none was
salvaged from this area. The regraded area will be revegetated in
accordance with Rule 4.15.

The asphalt surfacing on the Orchard Valley Mine haul road will be removed
prior to final abandonment.
The gravel surfacing on the Orchard Valley West Mine haul road will be
left for the use of recreational users and summer residents.
The gravel surfacing on the Orchard Valley R--0-M coal stockpile haul road
will be removed and disposed of in accordance with 4.11.4.
