Areas to be Worked <br /> • Gravel Pit No. 1 : <br /> Present surface area - 2.5 acres <br /> Overburden depth - 8 feet <br /> Depth of Gravel - 64 feet <br /> Material Removed to date - 50,000 cubic yards <br /> Ultimate removal - 500,000 cubic yards <br /> Strata below Gravel - Pierre Shale <br /> This pit occupies a high spot in the Headley lands and <br /> is the pit from which the water primarily infilters into the <br /> underground aquifer. The eastern 450 feet of this area is <br /> presently used as a stock pile . The pit as it exists now <br /> occupies 500 feet plus or minus near the center of the area <br /> (See Exhibit D) . <br /> Gravel Pit No . 2: <br /> Present surface area - 3 . 0 acres <br /> Overburden depth average - 6 feet <br /> • Depth of Gravel - 60 feet <br /> Material Removed to date - 100, 000 cubic yards <br /> Ultimate removal - 500,000 cubic yards <br /> Strata below Gravel - Pierre Shale <br /> Most of the material has been removed from this pit . <br /> The eastern 1 ,000 feet is now 75'/ mined. The stock pile <br /> area used is the same as for Pit No . 1 (see Exhibit D) . <br /> Gravel Pit No . 3 : <br /> Present surface area - 3 .5 acres <br /> Overburden depth - 1 foot <br /> Depth of Gravel - 17 feet <br /> Material Removed to date - 45 ,000 cubic yards <br /> Ultimate removal - 190, 000 cubic yards <br /> Strata below Gravel - Pierre Shale <br /> The stock pile area for this pit is located land to be <br /> mined and will be moved southerly as mining proceeds . <br /> • <br />
