• <br />222 Class IIIInventory, Colowyo's Collom Mine Project <br />Figure 6.134 Feature I (Cabin), Site 5MF6113, Looking Northeast (Taken by Bob Shinkle, <br />8/1/05). <br />horizontally stacked log walls rest on a foundation of unshaped sandstone rocks. The roof is 6 ft <br />high on the south and slopes slightly down to 5 ft 6 inches on the north side. The roof consists of <br />one short axis beam and five perpendicul arjoists partially covered with corrugated sheetmetal. The <br />interior floor consists of 2 x 6 -inch joists with 1 x 10 -inch planks and strips of tin nailed over the <br />seams and cracks. The interior wall treatment consists of chinking utilizing quartered logs. The <br />south wall has remnants ofcardboard cartons tacked into place. The northeast comer wall covering <br />consists of flattened tin cans likely utilized as wall insulation for the stove (no longer in place). Wire <br />nails were used throughout. <br />Feature 2 appears to be the remains of a possible root cellar located 30 ft (10 m) north of Feature 1. <br />The depression is approximately 12 ft square and 6 ft deep with a west - facing entryway. Remnants <br />of sandstone lining are present, as well as collapsed interior log posts. Feature 3 is a depression <br />47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc. <br />
