The shoulders are
jo downswept. The hafting element consists of a straight base with an expanding stem that has a neck
width of 3.5 mm. The point exhibits random flaking with fine flaking along the blade margins. The
biface fragments reflect one final biface and two preforms. The final biface fragment is a distal tip
made of semitranslucent chert that measures 1.6P x 1.9P x 0.4 cm. Both preforms are lateral edge
fragments made of semitranslucent chert. One specimen measures 2.7P x 1.7P x 0.8 cm, and the
other specimen measures 2.OP x 1.9P x 0.6 cm. No usewear was noted on any of the bifaces.
The flake tool is a retouched dendritic chert tertiary flake that measures 5.1 x 2.4 x 0.8 cm. Retouch
was present on both lateral margins and across the distal edge. All cutting surfaces exhibit usewear.
The complete multidirectional core measures 4.7 x 1.9 cm and has nine flake scars. The flakes
consist of two semitranslucent chert tertiary flakes and one opaque chert primary flake.
The groundstone artifact assemblage consists of six manos (one complete specimen and five
fragments), one metate fragment, and one indeterminate groundstone fragment. Mano 1 is a partial
specimen consisting of two refittable quartzite pieces that together measure 10.7P x 5.2P x 4.4 cm
and exhibit grinding on one surface and extant edges. Mano 2 is an incomplete quartzite cobble that
47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc.
