• o CCC will need to document the reasons for discrepancies noted in recent C-
04 series holes between the original 'from ply on the laboratory sheets
when compared to the database print out.
• Status: Complete. Field depths of each sample are listed on laboratory
sample instruction sheets. Upon receipt of laboratory results, the
depths and ply numbers are checked against the sample instruction
sheet. Upon entry into the database, the sample depths are adjusted to
match depth adjustments of lithological data. The protocol for entering
data into the database is located in Appendix 2 of this memorandum.
• It should be noted that the database contains both unadjusted and
adjusted sample depths. The "Sample Definition Summary" report in
the drill hole database includes the unadjusted and the adjusted sample
depths.
• Databases — General:
o A significant number of holes drilled in the mined out areas of East Pit have
been omitted from the database. Should time allow these could be eventually
added to the database.
• o Status: Incomplete /Low Priority. The drill hole database contains
approximately 1,483 drill hole locations. Approximately 718 of these
holes are currently utilized in the geological model. Approximately 429
of the 665 excluded from the model do not have lithological information
in the database. Approximately 225 holes have lithological data but are
not modelled. Also, approximately 13 monitor wells or piezometers
have not been modelled.
o It should be noted that an extremely thorough review of the available
drill hole data during the 1995 GEOCID project. At that time each drill
hole was reviewed to determine its validity for inclusion in geological
modelling. Those drill holes without well documented location data and
reliable geophysical logs were. flagged and excluded from geological
modeling. This accounts for nearly all of the drill holes without
lithological data in the database.
o In addition, many of the mined out drill holes have been flagged as
mined out for quite some time. These data, while being useful for
statistical analysis, provide little direct value to geological models and
mine planning because other data buffer the influences of these points.
Therefore, over time these data have not been reviewed during major
recorrelation efforts. As a result, entering the mined out data into the
database would require significant effort. Also, the value added from
• these data is less than value added by collecting new data and
