•
6
r
Class III Inventory, Colowyo's Collom Mine Project 377
Figure 6.228 Overview of Site 5MF4010, Looking South (Taken by Darryl Newton, 8124/05).
occur at approximately the same level of soil strata, which indicates the cutbank's potential to contain
an intact buried cultural layer, although the extent of the deposit remains unknown.
NRHP Eligibility Recommendation and Project Effect Site 5MF4010 was recommended by
MAC as needing more data to determine its eligibility status and the Colorado OAHP concurred
officially. The current inventory evaluation agrees with that assessment. Although no testing was
conducted, the presence of five localities containing eroding cultural material of the same
approximate depth indicates the possible presence of an intact buried cultural layer.
Site 5MF4010lies adjacent to but outside the revised project area boundary. It remains unevaluated
as to its NRHP eligibility status and disturbance would constitute an adverse effect. In the future,
if the site is proposed for disturbance by project redesign, it should be avoided pending a
47599
TRC Mariah Associates Inc.
