Class IIIInventory, Colowyo's Collom Mine Project 369
NRHP Eligibility Recommendation and Project Effec In 1995 MAC recommended that Site
5MF4006 was potentially eligible for the NRHP under Criterion D. The 2001 BLM site visit
concurred that the site needed more data and should remain unevaluated pending further work.
TRC Mariah's 2005 revisit to the site confirmed that the site could be a Native American eagle catch
or other possible ceremonial feature that possessed traditional cultural significance and therefore
constitute a TCP of Native American concern and be potentially eligible for the NRHP under
Criteria A, C, or D.
Site 5MF4006 occurs within the mine permit boundary, but it is currently outside of the proposed
area of disturbance. Impacts to the site would constitute an adverse effect. It is the opinion of
current and past investigators and the Colorado OAHP that the site needs further data to determine
its NRHP eligibility status. To date, this can only be accomplished by Native American consultation.
If the site is proposed for disturbance in the future, the site should be avoided pending consultation.
Following this stipulation, cultural resource clearance is recommended.
(0
6.2.34 Site 5MF4007
Site Tyne Historic homestead, building remains /field storage area
Legal Locatio Section 13, T3N, R94W
Landowner I3LM
Site Dimensions 138 x 72 ft
Site Descriptio Site 5MF4007 is located just outside the extreme southeastern portion of the
Colowyo Collom Mine project area and was recorded in July 1995 by MAC for Colowyo Coal
Company's lease and exploration areas.
