VLF
• Ames started placement of structural fill on Friday 20 along the existing haul
road between the 5-point intersection and the crusher maintenance area. The fill
placement was to grade the road for drainage away from the sediment retention
basin located to the South and direct any run-off toward the retention basin
South of the crusher, North of the existing haul road.
• Amec discussed with Ames that the adjacent areas along the fill will require
over excavation of uncontrolled materials, frozen ground and sediment within
any retention drainages and completion of key-ins when the fill is extended to
adjacent areas.
• Structural fill placement along the existing haul road section is anticipated to
continue next week.
2. SLF Processing (Material is being generated/processed for the LOB and the VLF)
• Production of the SLF material continued intermittently at the Dump 5 clay
processing plant during the week. Continued maintenance problems resulted in
reduced production for the week.
• Ames continued setup of a second screening plant in the VLF to process other
construction materials. The second plant is identified as the VLF Materials
Processing Plant. Setup was not completed by the end of the week. This plant
will not be used to process SLF.
Sheet 2 of 8 VLF Weekly Report WE 02.21.09
