AMEC's inventory control, summarizing
CQC certification received for each roll of geomembrane received for the 2010 Phase 5 VLF
primary and secondary liner systems, is presented in Appendix 1-1. All geosynthetic material
used as part of the 2010 Phase 5 VLF construction met project specifications.
5.1 Geomembrane Installation Personnel Resumes
AMEC reviewed the resumes of Lone Star installation personnel to verify that the installation
superintendent and the seaming personnel possessed sufficient experience as required by
the project specifications. Review of the installation personnel resumes indicated that key
personnel had experience sufficient to meet or exceed project specifications.
• Geomembrane personnel resumes are presented in Appendix 1-2.
5.2 Geomembrane CQC Documents
CQC documents submitted by Lone Star included resin supplier certificates and
geomembrane manufacturer resin certificates, geomembrane roll certificates, and welding
rod certificates. AMEC reviewed CQC documents prior to geomembrane placement and
verified that the documentation was complete and that the material properties and CQC
testing frequency required by specifications were met.
5.2.1 Resin CQC Certificates
LLDPE polymer raw material (resin) CQC certificates were provided by the resin
manufacturer, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, at a frequency of one per rail car
shipment. AMEC reviewed these certificates prior to geomembrane placement.
Geomembrane used on this project was produced from nine batches of resin. The
geomembrane manufacturer also performed density and melt index tests of the resin
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
2000 S.
