0 ameo <br />4.2.1.2 Geogrid and Select Structural Fill <br />For remediation of the UG-3010 working, AMEC observed Ames backfilling the working with <br />structural fill and placing two layers of UX 1700 HS geogrid. The bottom layer of geogrid <br />was installed with six inches of SSF cover and compacted with a Caterpillar CS563 SDVR, <br />and then the second layer of geogrid was installed transverse to the first. Twelve inches of <br />SSF was then placed and compacted. <br />For remediation of the UG-3009 and UG-3010 workings, AMEC observed Ames backfilling <br />the working with structural fill, and placing three layers of UX 1700 HS geogrid. The bottom <br />layer of geogrid was installed with six inches of SSF cover and compacted with a Caterpillar <br />CS563 SDVR, and then the second layer of geogrid was installed transverse to the first, and <br />then the third layer of geogrid was installed. transverse to the second. Twelve inches of SSF <br />was then placed and compacted. <br />4.2.2 Underdrains <br />AMEC verified that the underdrains were constructed as specified, that Ames placed OF a <br />minimum of 3 feet deep and 5 feet wide in the Primary Underdrain trench, and 2 feet deep <br />and 4 feet wide in the Secondary Underdrain trenches. AMEC verified that Ames removed <br />oversize and unsuitable material from the UF. AMEC verified that Ames installed geotextile <br />in the underdrains, monitored for geotextile overlap, and placed a minimum of 6 inches of <br />SSF on the top of the geotextile. <br />4.2.3 Closure Drains <br />AMEC verified that the northern Closure Drains were constructed as specified and that <br />Ames placed OF a minimum of 3 feet deep and 50 feet by 50 feet wide. AMEC verified that <br />Ames removed oversize and unsuitable material from the UF.
