ameo
•
100-mil double-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane, placed over the
LVSCF.
• The HVSCS is installed over the primary liner. The HVSCS consists of
HVSCS piping and DCF (minimum of 2 feet), along with the HVSCS riser
base plates and SDCF in the PSSA sump.
The installation of the secondary layer of geomembrane in the 2010 Phase 5 VLF began in
May 2010 and was completed in August 2010. Lone Star installed approximately 256,752
(neat line) square feet of 100-mil smooth LLDPE, approximately 1,385,512 (neat
line) square feet of 100-mil single-sided textured (texture face down) LLDPE geomembrane,
and approximately 65,055 (neat line) square feet of 100-mil double-sided textured LLDPE
geomembrane.
The LVSCS was installed above the secondary geomembrane layer, including placement of
LVSCF, construction of the LVSCS sump, and installation of the LVSC risers. The LVSCS
is discussed further in Section 2.10.
. The installation of the primary layer of geomembrane in the 2010 Phase 5 VLF began in July
2010 and was completed in October 2010. Lone Star installed approximately 1,500,723
(neat line) square feet of 100-mil smooth LLDPE, approximately 113,367 (neat line) square
feet of 100-mil single-sided textured LLDPE, and approximately 13,895 (neat line) square
feet of 100-mil double-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane, including geomembrane in the
anchor trench and overlap.
A minimum of 2-foot layer of DCF was then placed over the primary geomembrane, along
with the HVSCS piping and riser base plates.
Geomembrane installation for the PSSA is discussed further in Section 3.4. Ames anchored
geomembrane at the limits of the Phase 5 PSSA in an anchor trench, with the dimensions of
each trench a minimum of 3 feet deep by 1 feet wide. Ames backfilled the anchor trenches
with suitable anchor trench backfill material or with SLF material were the primary
geomemrbane covers the anchor trench. Ames placed anchor trench backfill in maximum
12-inch-thick compacted lifts. Anchor trench backfill was compacted with a hand-operated,
•
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
2000 S.
