ameo
•
500-lb. vibratory compactor and "Jumping Jacks." Phase 5 PSSA secondary geomembrane
was connected to the existing Phase IVa and Phase IVb geomembrane with a minimum of
3 feet of overlap per project requirements and drawings.
2.10 Low Volume Solution Collection System
The LVSCS is comprised of Low Volume Solution Collection Fill (LVSCF) and the Low
Volume Solution Collection Riser (LVSCR) pipes.
Ames installed the LVSCS riser pipes to elevation 9770 in September 2010, consisting of
three 18-inch diameter DR 11 HDPE LVSCR pipes totaling 517 lineal feet. Pipe sections
were connected to each other by fusion welds. Laborers haunched pipes with LVSCF and
kept pipes in place during LVSCF placement.
Approximately 9,389 lineal feet of 4-inch PCPE LVSCS piping was placed over the
• secondary geomembrane layer, prior to placement of LVSCF.
Ames began installing the PCPE LVSCS pipes in May 2010, and completed in September
2010. Pipe locations are shown on Record Drawing No. 6 in Appendix A. Ames haunched
pipes with LVSCF and kept pipes in place during LVSCF placement.
Ames began placing LVSCF on the secondary geomembrane layer of the Phase 5 PSSA in
May 2010, and completed placement in September 2010. Ames processed LVSCF from
December 2009 to June 2010. Ames placed approximately 171,998 cubic yards of LVSCF
in the PSSA. In general, LVSCF was placed in a minimum 3-foot thick lift over the
secondary geomembrane. LVSCF was placed around the LVSCR in maximum 12-inch
loose lifts, and compacted using a hand-operated vibratory plate compactor according to
Project Specifications.
•
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
2000 S.
