All work crews must adhere to all signing regulations, as set forth in the latest Manual on Uniform <br />Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). As a minimum, advance warning signs (Road Work Ahead, et <br />al) shall be utilized. In limited sight distance areas additional signs such as Shoulder Work Ahead/Road <br />Work Ahead shall be used in accordance with cure ent MUTCD standards. <br />Two way traffic shall be maintained at all times in the construction zone, in accordance with the <br />TCP and MUTCD. <br />Except as allowed by an approved TCP, no equipment shall be allowed in the travel lanes of the <br />roadway during construction. <br />Lane closures are allowed only between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, or at night from <br />9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. <br />No work may be conducted on State Roadways on designated Holidays from Noon on the <br />preceding day through 0700 on the first work day after the Holiday. <br />Whenever the work will affect the movement or safety of traffic, Permittee shall develop and <br />implement a traffic control plan, and utilize traffic control devices as necessary to ensure the safe <br />and expeditious movement of traffic around and through the work site and the safety of the <br />utility work force. <br />High visibility apparel shall be worn at all times, except when workers are in their vehicles. Such <br />apparel shall, at a minimum, comply with the Class 2 specifications of the ANSIASEA 107-1999 <br />standard for High-Visibility Safety Apparel, and as specified in section 6E.02 of the FHWA <br />"Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices". Class 3 apparel shall be considered for use at <br />night or in particularly hazardous situations. <br />The traffic control plan and the application of traffic control devices shall conform to the Manual <br />on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and Colorado Supplement thereto, and with the <br />Department's traffic signing Standard Plans S 630-1 and S 630-2. <br />Permittee's traffic control plan is subject to CDOT approval prior to commencing work on <br />highway ROW. A copy of the approved traffic control plan must be available on site during <br />work. <br />No open pits or cuts are allowed within 30 feet of any travel lane at night, weekends, or <br />holidays, unless protected by portable concrete barrier, as required by the MUTCD. <br />Construction equipment shall not be parked within the Right-of-Way during non-working hours. <br />No cleated or tracked equipment (with or without outriggers) shall be allowed to work on or pass <br />over paved surfaces without protective pads. <br />No bore pit is allowed within 10 feet of the roadway pavement or curb line, except as <br />provided by the MUTCD. <br />Revised 10/13/2010 3 <br />
