10.) Will any non-portable equipment be used to process the mine material? If so, please
indicate the type of structure to be constructed in order to process the material. Indicate
the dimensions of the structure(s) (height, length and width) and the type of material the
structure(s) will be constructed with. Also, please indicate if a concrete foundation or
pad will be constructed to support any structure(s). If so, please indicate the dimensions
of the foundations. The Division will need this information to calculate the financial
warranty.
11.) Will any petroleum products be stored on the site? If so, please indicate how these
materials will be stored to prevent and protect against a spill. Indicate the total volume of
petroleum stored on site and what type of container will they be stored in (ex 55 U.S.
gallon drum). In general, if these materials will be stored,on-site, they should be in a
lined berm that can contain 110% of the material stored in the berm.
12.) The mining plan indicates a "silt pit" will be constructed at the northeast corner of
the permit area. This silt pit must be depicted on the Exhibit C Mining Plan map. Will
this pit have exposed ground water? What will be the dimensions of this pit?
13.) Will the processing area move from one phase to another as mining progresses, or
will it stay in its initial location?
14.) Item (e) V outlined in the mining plan indicates after the first four 10 acre phases
have been mined, additional 10 acre phases will be plotted within the permit area. Please
commit to submitting and obtaining approval from the Division a technical revision to the
mining plan to indicate the location of the newly plotted 10 acre phases.
6.4.5 EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
15.) Item A indicates piles of material (overburden, sand) will be placed into hills or
reliefs to benefit wildlife habitat. Please clarify the configuration of these hills. What
grade will the slopes of these hills be constructed at?
16.) Please provide an estimate of the dimensions/configuration (length, width, height,
and side slopes) of the diversion dike described in item (c) of the reclamation Plan. What
type of material will this dike be made of?
17.) The applicant indicates in item (d) topsoil and overburden piles left in place longer
than one growing season will be planted with vegetation to prevent erosion. Please
indicate what seed mixture will be used to stabilize these stockpiles. Please indicate the
species of grass that will be used and the amount of pure live seeds per acre to be planted
for each species chosen.
18.) Please state what depth the overburden will be replaced on the site.
19.) Please indicate how the seedbed will be prepared for planting?
