Pnvironmental <br /> 6. Place electrode in second buffer solution (pH 4 or pH 10, depending on the expected <br /> sample pH) and stir moderately. Allow reading to stabilize. <br /> 7. Adjust °C/slope control knob until the correct value of second buffer is displayed. <br /> Remove electrode from solution and rinse. <br /> 8. Place electrode in the sample and stir moderately. Allow reading to stabilize. <br /> 9. Record the sample pH value displayed on the field data sheet or in the bound <br /> logbook, as applicable. <br /> 10 Rinse: electrode with DS/DI water. <br /> Single Buffer Calibration <br /> 1. Rinse pH electrode with DS/DI water. <br /> 2. Set °C/slope control to buffer solution temperature (°C). <br /> 3. Place electrode in a buffer solution with a pH value within 1.5 units of the expected <br /> sample value and stir moderately. <br /> 4. Slide mode switch to pH. Allow the reading to stabilize, then adjust CALM knob so <br /> that the correct buffer value at that temperature is displayed. <br /> 5.
