wool
_____
UVEnvironmental
6. Place electrode in sample and stir moderately. Allow reading to stabilize.
7. Record the sample pH value displayed on the field data sheet or in the bound
logbook, as applicable.
NOTE: :If the sample temperature differs significantly (by one degree or more) from the
buffer temperature used to calibrate the meter, make an adjustment. Raise or lower the
°C/slope control from its current setting by the difference between the current °C/slope
setting and the sample temperature.
DISSOLVED OXYGEN MEASUREMENTS
Dissolved oxygen measurements are taken using ORION Model 97-08 oxygen electrode shown
on Figure D-2 and ORION SA-210 meter set to the pH mode. The reading is displayed in parts
per million (ppm). If another dissolved oxygen meter or electrode is used, refer to
manufacturer's directions.
Calibration Procedure
1. Connect electrode to the Orion SA-210 meter.
2. Assemble the components for the test setup, shown on Figure D-2 as follows:
Insert the funnel into a Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) sample bottle
containing enough sample water to just cover the bottom.
CO2118
