Environmental
2. Fill the container with a conductivity calibration solution that is within the
conductivity range of the sample to be tested. Use enough calibration solution to
cover the probe at least 2-inches higher than the working part of the probe.
3. Rinse and clean the probe with DS/DI water, then rinse the probe by pouring a
little calibrator solution into and over it.
4. Connect the probe to the meter and immerse the probe in the calibrator solution.
5. For approximately two minutes, stir the solution intermittently with the probe and
move the probe up and down to force the solution through it.
6. Position the probe in the approximate center of the calibration solution and at least
1-inch away from any wall or from the surface of the solution.
7. Record the temperature reading and record the conductivity reading.
8. Calculate a probe correction factor as follows:
Probe Correction Factor = Actual Calibrator Solution Conductivity (from Calibrator
Solution#3161 or #3163 bottle) _ Meter Conductivity Reading.
For the rest of the day, conductivity readings on unknown solutions with this calibrated
probe and meter may then be taken and calculated according to:
Solution Conductivity = Meter Conductivity Reading X Probe Correction Factor
CO2128
