amec'0_
Earth & Environmental
G) PSSA Ore Slope Construction
1) VLF
Construction of the remaining portion of the PSSA ore slope continued between stations
G4+00 (+/-) and G16+00 (+/-), approximately 0 to 225 feet left of centerline using a CAT D-6
LGP dozer and a CAT 279 skid steer loader. Existing ore was pushed over the previously
certified secondary geomembrane, constructing the toe of the slope (if applicable). Geotextile
was placed over any geomembrane within three feet of the slope toe. A 10-ton smooth drum
roller was used to compact the surface of the ore slope 2' or more above the geomembrane and
a plate compactor was used to compact the remaining portion of the slope.
1) Low Volume Collection System
1) Low Volume Solution Collection Piping
Placement of the low volume collection system continued at the LVCSF placement area shown
in Figure 6, advancing in front of the placement. Four-inch CPeP was placed and sandbagged
in accordance with design drawings, constructing the mainline and the tertiary lines. The
secondary geomembrane in the area was accepted prior to pipe placement.
2) Low Volume Solution Collection Fill (LVSCF)
Low volume solution collection fill (LVSCF) material placement within the Phase 5 VLF
continued. LVSCF was placed in the area show in Figure 6. The LVSCF was hauled from the
processing area to the placement area using CAT 740 haul trucks loaded by a 988 front-end
loader. The LVSCF was placed in a 3-foot lift using a CAT D-6 LGP dozer and a CAT D-7
LGP dozer, expect were haul routes were established. Haul route consisted in five-foot lifts, to
be spread into 3-foot lifts later. Laborers were present at all times during placement holding the
low volume collection piping in place, removing debris/sandbags, and assisting the dozer
operator with lift thickness. All LVSCF was placed on previously approved secondary
geomembrane. AMEC field representatives observed placement constantly during the shift.
1) Material Processing
1) East Cresson Clay Borrow Area
Processing of SLF material continued this week. A CAT 320 excavator, a CAT 330 excavator,
a CAT 950 front-end loader, and tandem-axel haul trucks were used to excavate, haul, and
process the material.

Location This Week

(tons) Cumulative

(tons)
Comments
E Cresson Clay Processing 5,015 139,483
S Cresson Cla Processing 0 201,199 Processing in area complete.
Squaw Gulch Processing 0 35,816 Processing in area complete.
Total 5,015 371,887
2) Low Volume Solution Collection Fill Material
Processing of Low Volume Solution Collection Fill material continued at the Dump 4 LVSCF
Process. A CAT D-10 dozer and a skid steer loader were used to process the material.
VLF Weekly Report WE 06.12.10.D
