May Day Mine and Mill Site, Wildcat Mining Corporation, Original 110(2) Permit <br />Exhibit B <br />Meadowrue (Thalictrum sp.), Sedge (Carex sp.), Rock-brake (Cryptogamma crispa) and Common Nettle <br />(Urtica dioica). <br />Soils <br />A Custom Soil Resource Report (Attachment B-2) for the site was obtained from the Natural Resources <br />Conservation Services (NRCS) website (http://websoilsurvey.nres.usda.gov/app/WebSoilSurve .aspX). <br />Soils within the May Day Mine and Mill site are mapped as Nordicol very stony sandy loam unit derived <br />from sandstone colluvium. <br />Permanent Man-Made Structures (Rule 6.3.2 (b)) <br />The man made permanent man-made structure within 200 feet of the May Day Mine and Millsite <br />area (Figure E-3, Exhibit E - Maps) includes the pre-existing roads owned by Fairview Land <br />Company and Mr. Mike Clement. There are no fence lines within 200 feet of the May Day <br />properties. <br />Water Resources (Rule 6.3.2 (c)) <br />Surface Water <br />Water Resources located within or in close proximity to include: <br />• the La Plata River west and south of the May Day Mine and Millsite; <br />• the La Plata River east of the Access Easement; and <br />• Little Deadwood Gulch, an intermittent tributary of the La Plata River south of the May Day <br />Mine and Millsite. <br />• A spring located below the Idaho No. 2 Adit <br />There are no perennial streams, stock water ponds, irrigation ditches, or reservoirs that are within the <br />permit area that will or could be directly impacted by the mining operations. There are no groundwater <br />wells completed or known to exist [State Engineer's Office (SEO) Records] in the formation proposed to <br />be mined. <br />A summary of water quality from Mine Adits on both the Idaho and May Day Mine are presented in <br />Attachment B-3. <br />A spring and seep survey will be conducted to characterize surface and groundwater interrelationships. <br />To that end the following will be conducted: <br />• Literature review including USGS USFS Colorado Department of Wildlife, State Engineering <br />Office U.S. Army Corp of Engineer. La Plata County <br />• Review aerial photo stereo pairs to identify lineation, outcrops and vegetation <br />• Review of infrared photographs to identify areas of increased growth potentially associated with <br />springs <br />• Field work will be conducted in late summer of 2010: <br />o Inspection of areas identified by aerial photographs <br />June 28, 2010 Amendment M-1981-185 <br />3
