6.0 Threatened and Endangered Spe Available literature was reviewed to consider potential for presence of Threatened and Endangered Species in the RPE East project area. A summary of findings is provided below. 6.1 Methods A qualified natural resources biologist from Barr Engineering visited the RPE East project site in early October 2009 to perform wetland delineation. Incidental observations of plants and wildlife were noted, and during the week -long field reconnaissance activities related to wetland delineation as discussed in Section 5.0, a familiarity with onsite habitats and plant communities was attained. This knowledge on onsite habitats and plant communities was utilized to perform an offsite desktop evaluation of potential onsite occurrences of species of plants and animals listed as Endangered, Threatened, Species of Special Concern, or Candidate Species (i.e. "listed species "). Though Candidate species receive no federal protection, they were included in the evaluation in anticipation of potential future uplisting to a protected status.
