Hydrologic Monitoring Results 2007-2009
During the 2007-2009 hydrologic monitoring years Colowyo performed all of the required
monitoring. The monitoring results are presented in Exhibit 2A (surface water) and 2B (ground
water) of the Annual Hydrologic Monitoring Report. Each of these exhibits includes the water
quality data for the current monitoring year as well as all of the historic water quality data. A
review of all of the data shows that none of the sites had any parameters that were outside the
historic ranges. The following chart shows the general trend for several key parameters for each
ground water and surface water site. (Note: I is an increasing trend and D is a decreasing trend.)

Site Field
pH3 Lab
pH3
Cond a
TDSS
SO45
Cas
Fes
Mgs
Nas
Flow6

NUGSC D7 Is I I I I D I I I
LGSC I I I I D L9 I L I D
UWFGSC' D D D D D D I D D I
LTC I I I I I D I I I D

A6 D I I I D D D D I I
A72 L I D D D D L D D D
A82 D D I I I I D I I D
NGS Well D I I I I I D I I D
Gossard I D I I I I D I I I
MT-95-0210 D I D D I D D I I I

1: Sampling began in 4Q07
2: Sampling began in 2Q08
3: Standard Units
4: mmhos/cm
5: mg/L
6: cubic ft/sec (cfs) for flow. It is also
noted that in the chart there appears to be a discrepancy between the field pH and the lab pH for
several of the sites. This could be due to the fact that the instrumentation for field pH is not as
sensitive or stable as the laboratory instrumentation. It could also be due to the fact that the
laboratory holding time for pH is very short (usually 2 hours) so the laboratory pH is always
analyzed out of holding time. In no case were the pH values (either field pH or lab pH) for the
