Hydrology Report. Colowyo currently monitors four surface water sites. These surface water
<br />sites are the Upper West Fork of Good Spring Creek (UWFGSC), New Upper Good Spring
<br />Creek (NUGSC), Lower Good Spring Creek (LGSC) and Lower Taylor Creek (LTC). The
<br />surface water sites represent upstream and downstream sites along the Good Spring Creek, which
<br />is a regionally important creek for agriculture and a downstream site along the Taylor Creek (no
<br />corresponding upstream site is available). Colowyo also monitors six ground water sites (in the
<br />form of alluvial wells). These ground water sites are A-6, A-7, A-8, North Good Springs Well
<br />(NGSW), Gossard Well and MT-95-02. The six ground water sites are all alluvial wells. Two of
<br />the wells are up-dip from mining and four of the wells are down-dip from mining.
<br />The hydrologic monitoring plan was updated with the approval of Permit Revision 02. This
<br />revision added well MT-95-02 to the plan. The plan was further updated with the approval of
<br />Minor Revision 88 (approved on 20 August 2007) with the addition of the surface water
<br />monitoring point Upper West Fork of Good Spring Creek (UWFGSC). This monitoring location
<br />was added as a result of Stipulation 6, which was added to the permit during the PR-02 approval
<br />process. The final addition to the hydrologic monitoring plan was the addition of alluvial wells
<br />A-7 and A-8. These wells were added with the approval of Technical Revision 70 (approved on
<br />29 May 2008), which satisfied Stipulation 5, which was added during the PR-02 approval
<br />process. The following chart shows all of the monitoring sites, their frequency and the analytes
<br />that are tested.
