Waste materials such as metals <br />and large non -metal items will be segregated and stored on site as <br />scrap materials to be removed periodically by salvage contractors or a <br />contract disposal service. Scrap metals that are unsalable due to low <br />prices will be hauled and disposed of in an approved landfill along with <br />the trash. <br />Waste oil and petroleum based lubricants generated by the mining and <br />related activities will be collected and stored in closed containers. <br />Limited amounts of liquid waste oil products will be stored in <br />designated areas in or near the shop and warehouse facilities. The <br />containers of waste oil will be periodically removed or pumped -out by <br />contractors for disposal or recycling away from the mine site. Used <br />cleaning solvents will similarly be removed from the site by a licensed <br />contractor for disposal or recycling. <br />Return of Coal Mine Waste to Abandoned Workings <br />Northfield is not proposing to return coal mine waste to abandoned <br />workings..
