Storage and handling of explosives for the underground <br />operations described above will be conducted under the supervision of <br />qualified individuals in compliance with applicable Department of <br />Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and MSHA requirements. <br />Coal Handling Structures <br />Proposed coal handling structures to transport and stockpile coal at the <br />Northfield Mine include the following: <br />- Main raw coal conveyor from slope. <br />- Raw coal transfer conveyor. <br />- Elevated raw coal conveyor to raw coal stockpile. <br />- Elevated conveyor to feed crushing and screening plant. <br />- Two transfer belts at ground level under crushing and <br />screening facility. <br />- Radial stacker belt from crushing and screening to clean coal <br />stockpiles. <br />Design of these structures will be accomplished such that their <br />construction and use minimize potential environmental impacts, meet <br />the specific coal handling requirements, and protect both public and <br />employee health and safety. Their type and method of construction will <br />facilitate demolition and final reclamation in compliance with applicable <br />regulatory requirements. Detailed descriptions of all coal handling <br />structures and their configuration within the mine facility area are <br />presented in this section under the subtitle "Mine Facilities ". <br />Coal Mine Waste And Non -Coal Processing Waste <br />In conjunction with mining and related operations at the mine, both <br />screen plant waste and non -coal wastes will be produced and disposed. <br />Coal refuse waste will result from crushing and screening of run -of- <br />mine coal into a clean coal products for customers. The refuse will be <br />transported from a small temporary stockpile adjacent to the screen <br />plant to a permanent coal refuse pile located in the southwest portion <br />of the mine facilities area. <br />Design, construction, maintenance, and reclamation of the coal refuse <br />stockpile was previously discussed in detail in this section under the <br />subtitle "Mine Facilities ". Plans for disposal of coal mine wastes effect <br />compliance with all applicable regulatory provisions of both this section <br />and Rule 4.10. <br />Mining and related activities will produce non -coal wastes including <br />garbage, paper, plastic, used equipment components, tires, cable, <br />waste oil and lubricants, and other associated debris.
