0 ditches, and periodic watering during. dry periods to control dust.
Coal haulage is limited to county roads which have been designed and
constructed to Fremont County road specifications. From the mine,
truck haulage on county roads to reach State roads includes
approximately 0.6 miles and 0.8 miles of graveled and paved roads,
respectively. Fremont County is responsible for maintenance and
repair of all county roads utilized for coal haulage and mine access.
Approval from Fremont County for mine operations within 100 feet and
use of county roads is documented within the Fremont County
Conditional Use Permit.
Proposed plans for mine facilities include access roads to the mine
buildings and the mine yard area adjacent to the portal area. The
portal access road will extend from the mine haul where coal is loaded
and transported to customers. This road will be utilized primarily by
mine personnel during regular mining activities, and for vehicles
delivering mine supplies and fuel. In addition, Northfield plans to
develop a graveled access road to the proposed mine ventilation shaft
areas on the south side of County Road 79. Use of this road will
include access for the required daily checks of the fan operating
parameters, and any routine fan maintenance.
Several light -use roads in the mine area will consist of short road
segments intended for access to various surface facilities such as the
topsoil stockpiles, power line, and pond embankment area. Access to
surface facilities located on the mine bench area will be available and
unrestricted across graveled surface areas in the mine yard areas
adjacent to the facilities.
The following roads, shown on Map 12, will be constructed, maintained
and used in conjunction with the proposed mining and related
activities. Road design information, including typical profiles for the
proposed roads, is included in Exhibit AA, Conceptual Road Design
Plan.
- Haul Road: From mine entrance at County Road 79, to Coal
Stockpile Area; 40 feet wide maximum, all - wether gravel base
construction; approximate length 1050 feet.
- Access Road: From end of mine haul road to Portal area; 24
feet wide maximum; all- weather gravel base construction;
approximate length 700 feet.
- Access Road: From County Road 79 to ventilation shaft areas,
14 feet wide; gravel base construction; approximate length 260
feet.
2.05.3 -20 Revised 12/04/09, TR -01
