Parking areas will be established adjacent to the building to
accommodate employee and visitor vehicles. Access to the parking
areas will originate from the portal access road.
Upon completion of mining operations, during reclamation activities,
the office /bathhouse /warehouse building will be demolished or
salvaged and removed from the site during reclamation. The concrete
support footers will be excavated and placed in a designated disposal
area on site. All remaining warehouse supplies will be salvaged, sold,
or returned to the appropriate suppliers. If requested by the
landowners, this building may remain, if approved, to support the
postmining land use.
Shop Building
The proposed shop building will be a fully equipped maintenance and
servicing facility located where it is readily accessible to the warehouse
and portal areas: An extended interior height will be provided to
accommodate maintenance work, allowing access of high - profile
surface equipment and the framework for an overhead crane. The
.entire structure will be on a reenforced concrete slab designed to
support the structure. The building will be have a steel framework and
a metal exterior and roof. General construction and dimensional
information for the shop building is provided on Table 2.05.3 -2.
Upon completion of mining and related activities, the shop structure
will be demolished or will remain if approved to support the postmining
land use. If demolished, the steel components and service equipment
will be salvaged and all concrete will be demolished and placed in
designated disposal areas located within the facilities area and covered
by backfill materials.
Storage Areas
An outside, open supply storage area will be established in the
northern end. of the facilities area. A smaller scrap recycling area will
be located adjacent to the shop. Large or bulky items including tires,
cable, roof bolts, conveyor belt and conveyor components, and mine
timber may typically be stored in the surface storage area where they
are accessible but do not require covered storage. Metal scrap that is
too large or heavy to be disposed of in the waste hauled from the mine
to the landfill will be temporarily stored in a designated area by the
shop. The scrap will be hauled from the storage area on a periodic
basis by local contractors.
Upon completion of mining and related activities, all remaining supplies
will be salvaged, sold, or returned to the appropriate suppliers.
