much will be applied by hand. Application of materials must be accomplished in a <br />manner that results in a consistent, complete, through and even distribution of seed, <br />fertilizer and mulch to all ground surfaces. Hand revegetation will take place as not to <br />disturb existing vegetation established on site. CONTRACTOR must supply the laborer <br />and any hand tools required to complete the task, fertilizer and mulch. Owner will supply <br />the seed. <br />The following requirements apply to revegetation: <br />Fertilizer: Biosol Plus (7 -3 -3), or approved equivalent, will be added to all ground <br />surfaces disturbed during reclamation construction. This material will be applied in <br />advance of seeding at the rate of eight hundred (800) pounds per acre. It is estimated <br />that 800 pounds of Biosol Plus or approved equivalent will be required. <br />Seedbed Preparation: Seedbed preparation will be accomplished as a result of surface <br />scarification disturbed areas. Surface roughening will be accomplished in the following <br />manner: <br />- Two (2) tons of certified weed free mulch per acre will be applied by hand to the <br />ground surface. Mulch will be provided by Contractor and must be certified as noxious <br />weed free or noxious weed seed free by an authorized State or County Officer. <br />Documentation of certification must be provided to Project Manager prior to application <br />of mulch. <br />The mulch will be evenly distributed over the_ground surface and crimped in by hand. <br />Surface roughening will occur simultaneously with distribution of the weed free mulch in <br />order to prevent loss of the mulch due to wind. <br />Seed and Mulch Distribution: An even distribution of seed over all areas is required. <br />Mulch will be applied at the rate specified above. An even distribution of mulch over all <br />areas is required. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Revegetation will be measured to the nearest 0.1 acre and paid at the unit price bid on <br />the Bid Schedule Item 6. The price bid shall include all costs for labor, materials, <br />equipment and all other items necessary for revegetation as described in these <br />specifications. Payment for this task will be made only for the unit price shown under <br />Item 6 of the Bid Schedule. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by <br />the PROJECT MANAGER. <br />Task 7 <br />Move and Compact Material on Pond <br />Small piles located south east of the pond will need to be moved approximately 100 feet <br />towards in west in the low end of the pond. The material shall be placed in one -foot lifts <br />on the low area of the pond and shall be compacted before the next layer is placed. A <br />rammer or other suitable equipment is required to compact the material. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />There will be no measurement for payment of Task 7, Move, Place and Compact <br />Material on Pond. Payment for this Task will be reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 7 <br />As of 01/08/09 <br />
