6. Number of employees. The exploration holes will be drilled with a rota drill-rig, which typically
requires three workers per rig. It is anticipated that two drill-rigs will be usedf project.
or this Sage Creek plans to schedule operations on a 12-hour per day basis (approximately 7:00am to
7:06pm); however, Sage Creek requests permission to schedule drilling operations on a 24-hour
per day basis in case unforeseen delays cause the project to fall behind schedule. Other associated
activities (sampling, logging, and project management) may add another 2 to 3 workers to the
number of individuals working on-site at any given time.
7. Phasing plan. CDOW has recommended an appropriate season for activities at each exploration
site to minimize potential impacts to grouse as outlined below:
Early Season Drilling March 1 to July 1: ccu049, ccu051
Mid Season Drilling July 1 to September 1: ccu050, ccu051, ccu059, ccu060, ccu061
Late Season Drilling September 1 to March 1, 2011: ccu053, ccu057, ccu061
Any Season Drilling: ccu049, ccu052, ccu054, ccu055, ccu056, ccu062, ccu063
The resulting letter from the CDOW wildlife consultation for this exploration program is attached
in Appendix B, Colorado Division of Wildlife Consultation.
8. Date of commencement. Sage Creek plans to initiate exploration activities as soon as all permits
are approved (tentatively late February 2010).
9. Completion date. The project, as noted in Item 7, is projected to be completed by late fall of 2010.
Some reclamation activities may not be completed until spring 2011.
10. Location of stockpiles for topsoil, overburden, etc, if any. Exploration pad construction will start
with -removal of "A " and "B" horizon material. The soil material will be salvaged and stored, in
an area that will be undisturbed, along the uphill margin ofthe exploration pad. The soil material
stockpiles will be marked with a "topsoil" sign. If subsoil materials also are removed during pad
construction, they will be stockpiled separately from the "A" and "B " horizon materials.
Stockpiled subsoil material, if applicable, will also be stored and marked with a sign, in an area
that will be undisturbed along the uphill margin of the exploration pad.
11. Drainage control on site. Drainage control at the drill-sites will be through an integrated system,
using grading and berms to limit and control suf face runoff, mud pits excavated within the
botprint of the pad to contain all drilling fluids, and either rock check-dams, silt fence, or straw
bales/wattles installed at the iow point of the drill- pad to contain sediment and control any
discharge.
12. All roads to be used for project, and existing conditions of roads, and anticipated improvements:
Primary access to the proposed exploration area will be via Routt County Road 27, southeast of
Hayden, Colorado. Routt County Road 27, as well as existing graveled coal mine roads and
unimproved ranch roads and jeep trails will be utilized to access exploration drill-sites within the
exploration area. Sage Creek has specifically sited proposed drill-sites adjacent to existing roads
and in areas of previous disturbance in order to minimize any new disturbance associated with the
proposed exploration activities.
Sage Creek Project - 2010 Program 4 02/24/10
